I am an active elder and I voted today!
by outofthebox intoday is a proud day for me.
i became part of my fellow citizens in this country by casting my vote.
it was a thrilling experience (more like a disney ride really, since the line wasn't that long).

I was removed from the "Friends" list of a couple of JWs because I put "Took the Red Pill" in the "Religious Views" entry. One of them was my friend since we were 10 years old... Oh, the love!

An attempt at reconciliation.
by AK - Jeff inmy cousin - who was also my best friend for 35 years have been involved in an email exchange in recent weeks.
previous to that he was mostly shunning me.
without getting into details, he had given me room to explain things, especially as to how i have 'changed' as a result of leaving.

by agent zero inhi everyone, i'm new here, been viewing the board for a while, decided to join yesterday.. so i'm about 95% convinced now the wts is bogus, but i'm still in coz as yall know leaving is the hardest part.
i plan on doing a fade to avoid the complete disconnection, but first want to gradually help my gf to see things too.
in the meantime, i'm just wondering how many of you are still "active" jdubs?

Hey, Anointeds Daughter...I'm very, very happy to see you here! So that you might know who I am, I can tell you that you and me grew together in the same congregation, and that your husband is a good childhood friend of mine too.
Now you know who I am, right? :)
This forum will help you a lot...Will make it easier to jumpstart your new life. Don't worry, the pain will eventually pass, and you won't feel empty--you'll be full of real joy instead.
A big hug to you and your husband!

I called her today to know how she's doing and all that...We were chatting about different things, and she mentions that she was in the Circuit Assembly today...And then it went like this...
"Have you gone to any of the meetings since you moved to Texas?", she asked.
"Nope."
"Are you ever going to do it?"
"I don't think so, mother. No, I won't", I replied.
"Why?", she asks in an odd, sweet tone.
I then proceeded to explain in general terms that I've been through years of research, investigation, and lots of blood, sweat and tears to finally understand that the Organization is just another group of people seeking to worship in their own way, just like every other religion in the world.
"So what are you now, Catholic?" she asked with a laugh.
"Nope. If I'm going to choose a spiritual belief, I'll tell you I'm a son of God and the Universe", I replied.
So to make a long story short, she didn't want to hear anything about my research, and we just decided to respect each other's beliefs. I'll do so, I don't know yet about her. We'll see...
